The Milwaukee Police Dispatch Records project is a citizen-run data archival effort managed by Nick Gartmann in his free time. It scrapes the data provided by the MPD on their website because they limit thier public records to showing only a 60 minute window of the most recent dispatches. This project provides a historical copy of those records dating back to November 7, 2016

There are a few aspects to the dataset that are notable:

• MPD represents status updates for a call as multiple entries under the same Call ID but with a new status. However, the time associated with the new record is a duplicate of the original call, so it is not possible to determine the duration of time between status updates.
• There are multiple gaps in the dataset. This is either due to the MPD website failing to update, or this project having an outage causing a loss of data. If you are interested in helping file Freedom of Information Act requests to fill in the gaps, please email me.

If doing research based on this data, you should contact me to discuss ways to correct for these idiosyncrasies. Failing to account for them can cause substantial errors when aggregating the data.

This project is developed, hosted, and maintained pro-bono. Please be courteous in your use of the site and the dataset - provide credit where appropriate, and do not scrape the site.
